Impressions of the Apartment Camp 2017

On the 21st of September, all the visionaries, digital natives, globetrotters and apartment suppliers have come together again in order to discuss forward-thinking ideas at the Apartment Camp. And this year, the event has been a bit different from usual:

In a trendy co working office in the heart of Munich, blue-white squares as well as ragtag sofas and wooden benches in a relaxed living room atmosphere have been waiting for the participants of this year’s Apartment Camp. This unconventional appearance has caused surprise at first, but soon the typical Bavarian comfort set in on its own and at least from the veal sausage breakfast in proper style, the ice was broken permanently. Moreover, due to the loose seating arrangements, exciting discussions have been encouraged and an intensive exchange of ideas took place among the participants.

The lecturers did indeed deliver many highly interesting impulses. Our world is changing without doubt from which however new chances for the future arise and the challenge now is to recognise them. Especially the generations Y and Z as digital natives have new expectations on their employers and the familiar work-life-balance is clearly shifting, which Benjamin Fischer from Absolventa has exemplified. In addition to that, travel blogger Matthias Derhake has demonstrated that more and more employees want to connect travelling with working, wherefore not only the jobs but also the housing situation must meet new requirements. Giuliano Capo answers this trend with his model SoBo Living and offers the exciting possibility of flatrate living to all the globetrotters and remote workers out there. For a fixed monthly amount, the users can live in apartments all over the world for as long as they want to. Aside from that, the current mentality moves more and more towards sharing instead of possessing. Therefore, Simone Wolf from Sono Motors introduced the electric car for the future “Sion” to us. The solar-powered car is part of a carsharing model and therefore facilitates a greater mobility and flexibility. Heiko Bonn from Fennix finished the series of lectures with the fascinating consideration of how autonomous driving will change also the real-estate game in the future.

Subsequently, the participants of the Apartment Camp had the chance to exchange their views on the fresh input and to make new contacts. In the Augustiner Bräustuben, we let the day come to an end with roast chicken and beer.

At this point we want to thank all the participants once more for their large interest and the active contribution. Special thanks befits also our sponsors and the lecturers for their exciting stimulations, of course! We are looking forward to next year’s Apartment Camp and hope that we can reckon with you again!
